I spent over 10 years working both at the front desk and in the accounting office at hotels. Throughout the years in the hospitality industry, I discovered I had a knack for numbers when I was working in the night audit position. Unfortunately the hours of that job weren’t conducive to having a family. In 2014 I decided to return to school for bookkeeping. I went to school part-time while working full-time and raising my family, and I graduated with honours in 2015. I immediately landed a position assisting a local bookkeeper in her home on a part-time basis. While there, I assisted the full bookkeeping aspects of 13 local McDonald’s restaurants, focusing mainly on accounts payables. I eventually took on a full-time accounting clerk position at a locally owned building centre, working with both accounts receivables and accounts payables. I was then promoted to a purchasing agent at that company. I enjoyed what I did, going through reports and keeping track of inventory and price changes, but I missed doing accounting on a daily basis. I decided to open my own bookkeeping business in November, 2018. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you with your small business bookkeeping, and personal income tax needs.
